The Epidemic Control and Reinforcement of Health Services (ECRHS) Program operated in Sierra Leone from 2015 to 2018 with $11.6 million in support from Germany’s Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW).
The Strengthening Livelihoods through Community Adaptation and Learning project operated in West Bank and Gaza from 2014 to 2017. It was funded with $4.1 million through the German Ministry of Development (BMZ), and reached more than 11,600 people directly and 7,800 indirectly. CARE partnered with the Applied Research Institute of Jerusalem.
The Economic Support for COVID-19 Affected Women program ran from March to September 2021 with $100,000 in support form the Tiffany Foundation. It reached 1,200 women directly, and 6,000 people indirectly.
From 2013 to 2017 CARE implemented the Somali Girls Education Promotion Project, part of the Department for International Development’s Girl’s Education Challenge. Focused on improving educational outcomes the project reached more than 18,000 girls to raise the quality of educational provision as well as educational outcomes.
68 people from CARE teams in 14 countries around the world joined in the process to read 48 project evaluations and pull out evidence about the social and empowerment changes VSLAs can bring. Here’s what women have to say about the changes VSLA mean in their lives.
Yemen’s Emergency Assistance for Vulnerable and Conflict-Affected Communities ran from 2017-2018 with $10 million from USAID’s Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance. It reached 242,000 people directly, and 128,000 indirectly.
Communities in Ethiopia and Somalia say, “If we had not received aid when the cyclone hit us, we would not have survived.” How did we do it? By listening to what they had to say.
The USAID WASH and Nutrition Project ran from 2013-2019 with $14.8 million from USAID in Mali. The project reached 878,128 people directly and 2.3 million indirectly.
Network, Engage, Transform ran in Sri Lanka from 2016 to 2018 with $523,484 from the EU. It reached 630 people directly and 78,205 indirectly. The team partnered with Women Action Network and Transform Kilinochichi (WANT) and Community Development Organization Mullaitivu.
In FY2023, CARE worked around the world, contributing to saving lives, fighting poverty, and increasing social justice.
