The Peri Urban Community Driven Models for Equitable Services (COMEQS) Solid Waste Project ran from 2014-2018 in two peri-urban settlements of Lusaka District (Chipata and Ng’ombe). The project received $1.5 million in support from UKAID and Comic Relief, and reached 304,010 people.
Funded by the Kendeda Fund, the Tipping Point Initiative addresses root causes of child, early, and forced marriage (CEFM) in Nepal and Bangladesh.
The Jordanian Community Development and Support project ran from 2014-2017 with $3.4 million in support from Global Affairs Canada. It reached 25,377 people directly.
Some of the colleagues who most inspire us are those who constantly push further, who try to change the whole system, unsatisfied with smaller-scale change alone. CARE International recently lost a colleague in Bangladesh who did just that, Dr Jahangir Hossain, CARE Bangladesh’s Health Program Director - or Jahangir Bhai as he was affectionately known by his many colleagues and friends, in Bangladesh and around the world.
Dignity is not the only thing CARE delivers. Improved health services, safer spaces, and less violence are all impacts in the Shelter, Protection, and Health for South Sudanese Refugees in Uganda. The project was funded by Global Affairs Canada from 2017 to 2018 for $750,000. It reached 37,017 people.
TESFA has received funding from the Nike Foundation and Johnson and Johnson. Phase 1 ran from 2011-2014, and phase 2 from 2015-2018, which reached 4,400 people directly.
CARE, MARS, and the women of Cote d’Ivoire partnered to change that Women for Change ran in Cote d’Ivoire from 2015-2018 with the generous support of MARS chocolate. With $711,000 we reached 4,900 people directly and 24,500 people indirectly.
The PROFIT Financial Graduation project ran from 2016-2019 with $1.8 million in funding from the government of Kenya. CARE reached more than 1,000 families in the Kitui district of Kenya.
The Masvingo El Niño Recovery project ran in Zimbabwe from 2017-2018, with $2.9 million in support from USAID’s Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance (OFDA). It reached more than 32,000 people directly.
In FY2023, CARE worked around the world, contributing to saving lives, fighting poverty, and increasing social justice.
