A look at the refugee crisis in Myanmar and CARE International's activities in the region.

Between 25 August 2017 and now, over 700,000 people from Myanmar have fled to Bangladesh (ISCG Report, July 19, 2018), following an escalation of violence in the Northern Rakhine State from 25 August onwards.

Since 25 August 2017, around 706,000 refugees from Myanmar have fled to Bangladesh. Over 900,000 refuges are now living in Cox’s Bazar (ISCG Report, 19 July 2018), including those who arrived before the exodus.

As of 26 November, 624,000 people have fled to Cox’s Bazar in Bangladesh following violence in Myanmar. In total 836,487 refugees are now in Bangladesh (including pre-25 August influx) [ISCG, 26 Nov]. They are in need services like shelter, food, clothes…

As of 8 October, a total of 519,000 people have fled to Cox’s Bazar in Bangladesh following an escalation of violence in Myanmar. (Source: ISCG Report, 8 Oct). They need shelter, food, clothes, clean water, sanitation and health services.

English: Most families only eat 1 meal per day, often just plain rice. There are signs of severe malnutrition. In some of the camps more than 6,000 people are sharing 3 toilets.
