CARE Philippines, through its Typhoon Haiyan Reconstruction Assistance (THRA) project, launched the Season-long Training for Vegetable Farmers in Northern Iloilo in cooperation with the Department of Agriculture, the Local Government of Lemery and Taytay sa Kauswagan, Inc (TSKI), as CARE’s facilitating partner in the Province of Iloilo.

 

Community Activators: Changing Lives

Across South-Eastern Turkey, CARE has recruited 160 Community Activators – men and women with whom we share information about the law, rights, health and best practice, and train to deliver this information to other Syrians who have also fled war in Syria to find safety in Turkey – in Islahiye, Gaziantep city, Nizip, Kilis and Sanliurfa.

Heart and Sole: Yayladagi refugees showcase shoemaking skills

In a small town on Turkey’s border with Syria, 100 refugees have gone ‘full pelt’ to learn, and use shoemaking skills taught in a CARE livelihoods project. In the process, they stand to benefit not only themselves, but also their families, and the town as a whole.
