Many Syrian refugees living outside camps across countries in the region are losing out on the help they desperately need, according to five international aid agencies today.

The recent devastation in Uttarakhand (a northern state in India famous for its pilgrimage sites) from unprecedented heavy rains due to a cloud burst, triggered flash floods and landslides along the two main river basins of Alaknanda and Bhagirathi.

Yesterday, the United Nations Security Council adopted a new resolution that focuses on sexual violence in conflict. The resolution builds on the G8 declaration that was adopted in April.

The number of Syrian refugees will pass the two million mark within the next nine weeks*, a coalition of 18 aid agencies working in six countries directly affected by the Syrian crisis, warned today.
