After responding to the COVID-19 pandemic by leveraging the potential of technology to maintain connection with program participants, CARE Jordan is undertaking a digital transformation of its services. This initiative will allow for more people to be helped more efficiently. It is evident from research conducted that access to technology is not universal. Instead, there is a 'digital divide': some groups have access to technology, and some groups do not.
Women may specifically lack access to technology and this lack of access may be further exacerbated if they are elderly, poor, have a disability, or live in a rural area. To ensure that CARE Jordan’s digitalization initiative leads to more, not less, access to our services, an analysis of gender and digital inclusion was recently conducted. This analysis will be drawn upon to construct digital programs that include everyone.
