South Sudan's hunger crisis has reached critical levels, with over 7.1 million facing acute food insecurity amid floods, conflict, and economic hardship. Women and girls are most affected, facing increased risks as they search for food in conflict zones.

In a confluence of humanitarian crises, South Sudan is being pushed to the brink of starvation, worsened by low humanitarain aid fund for the country.

Ahead of World Humanitarian Day on August 19th, South Sudan continues to be the deadliest place for humanitarian aid workers, followed by Sudan, Somalia, and Ukraine.

Nearly 90,000 people have crossed over from Sudan to South Sudan as the conflict approaches its second month. 53% of these are women and girls who are arriving with nothing more than the clothes on their backs.
